Some of our 2021/2022 events and fundraisers are detailed below. We have gone full-throttle with virtual programming and have been able to offer a wide variety of community-building, fun events for kids AND adults.
We have also kept descriptions of the events you can expect to take place during a typical school year.
Volunteers are always needed, so please email 340PTA@gmail.com to get involved.
Spring Gala & Auction
This year's Spring Gala will look different, but the event will go on! It is the biggest fundraiser of the school year and we have some terrific items set for our silent auction. Get ready to bid for a great cause (PS 340!) and to sit back and enjoy some entertainment.
Our solicitation team (i.e. the whole school!) is gearing up. The online donation form is coming soon. In the meantime, for more information or to get involved, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Each year we ask for your support so that we may provide additional ways to enrich your child’s educational experience. Student enrichment programs, professional development for teachers, books for our classroom libraries and classroom supplies, are just a few of the ways the Direct Appeal money is put to good use. No donation is too small, and each one is greatly appreciated.
Our PTA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, making your donations tax-deductible and eligible for corporate matching. Your support today has a tremendous impact on what we can do together.

Movie Nights (younger grades) and Game Nights (older grades)
Let’s go out to dinner and see a movie. Held in the school’s auditorium, parents and students come for pizza and much more.
Movie nights have been put on hold for 2021/2022, but we are excited for them to resume as soon as possible! In their place, we have rolled out new virtual programming to keep our community strong, including....
To bring our children some extra weekend joy and keep them connected to their friends and their school, we have been organizing a variety of events on Friday evenings. The 340 community has enjoyed a magic show, a New Year’s scavenger hunt, and cupcake decorating to name a few. Coming up: Mad Science and Virtual Game Night!
Apparel & Accessories
Show your school spirit! We launched an amazing new Spirit Shop this year, filled with a variety of fresh designs and products for every member of your family. The shop features T-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, mugs, stickers and so much more!

We LOVE PS 340!
The first two weeks in February were dedicated to school spirit activities including Zoom lessons in cupcake decorating and card crafts. We asked every child to create a Valentine’s Day card stating one thing they love about PS 340 -- or a different upbeat message. The results were spectacular! The cards were compiled into a slideshow that was shared on Valentine’s Day. The outpouring of love for our school was awesome to see!
Typically, two book fairs are held at the school each year – one shortly before winter recess and the other before summer break. The teachers bring their students during the day, and the fairs are open before and after school for families to shop together.
This year, due to Covid, we held a virtual Scholastic Book Fair from Jan. 24th (Sunday) through Feb. 6th (Saturday). Kids and parents alike still enjoyed shopping for new reading material. Our next book fair will be held at the beginning of June.
These events earn Scholastic dollars for our school that can be used to purchase books to enhance our classrooms and library.
In a COVID-Free year, the PTA hires a professional photography company to take class and individual student pictures. A make-up date is always scheduled for those children who were absent. We hope to be able to have in-person photos in the Spring if allowed.
March Wellness - TBD for 2021/2022
We know that parenting during Covid is NOT easy. The PTA has assembled a variety of speakers and wellness activities to support our parent population during this challenging time. On Wednesdays in March our community can participate in seminars such as “Surviving and Thriving in Uncertain Times,” and activities such as “Breathwork to Calm the Mind” and “Yoga & Stretch for Everyone.”
Kids dress in costumes and families come together to celebrate the fall season with autumn-inspired arts and crafts, food, games and a dance party. The school is transformed by dozens of volunteers and it sets the stage for a fantastic event! A ton of fun is had by all!
While this event is put on hold for the 2021/2022 school year, the PTA never stops thinking about how to make it even more special!
