We are thrilled to be able to return to many in-person events this school year. Below are a sample of the activities we are planning for this year for both kids and adults.
Volunteers are always needed, so please email 340PTA@gmail.com to get involved.
2024 Spring Gala & Auction
Each year we hold a Spring Gala with both a live and a silent auction, which is generally the biggest fundraising event of the school year. It’s a time for the adults in our PS 340 community
to enjoy a festive night out with friends -- while supporting our school.
We are already starting to plan out the Spring 2024 event, including venue selection and auction items.
It takes a great team and a lot of school community participation to run a successful auction and gala. We encourage everyone to please get involved!
Please contact ps340auction@gmail.com to volunteer or with any questions you may have.
Direct Appeal - Fund for 340
Each year we ask for your support so that we may provide additional ways to enrich your child’s educational experience. Student enrichment programs, professional development for teachers, books for our classroom libraries and classroom supplies, are just a few of the ways the Fund for 340 Direct Appeal money is put to good use. No donation is too small, and each one is greatly appreciated.
Our PTA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, making your donations tax-deductible and eligible for corporate matching. Your support today has a tremendous impact on what we can do together.
The 2023/2024 Fund for 340 is underway. Please click here to contribute. We sincerely thank everyone for supporting our school.

We LOVE PS 340!
The first two weeks in February were dedicated to school spirit activities including Zoom lessons in cupcake decorating and card crafts. We asked every child to create a Valentine’s Day card stating one thing they love about PS 340 -- or a different upbeat message. The results were spectacular! The cards were compiled into a slideshow that was shared on Valentine’s Day. The outpouring of love for our school was awesome to see!
Book Fairs
Typically, two book fairs are held at the school each year – one shortly before winter recess and the other in the Spring. We will soon be announcing the dates of our Book Fairs. The teachers bring their students during the day, and the fairs are open before and after school for families to shop together.
These events earn Scholastic dollars for our school that can be used to purchase books to enhance our classrooms and library.
Class Pictures
The PTA brings in a professional photographer to take class and individual pictures. This year, Class Pictures will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Please contact the PTA to volunteer to help the kids get ready for their photos! You will need to be on the PTA distribution list to receive emails from the photographer.
Helping Our Community
The PS 340 PTA is proud to work with organizations in the community to help those in need. We partner with organizations such as Room to Grow, City Harvest and Project Cicero. Our first community activity is a Room to Grow Fill-a-Trunk event where 340 families can bring baby / toddler items to the front of the school to help families in need, and will be on Saturday, October 29. Families should NOT bring items to the school prior to October 29.
Fall Fest
Kids dress in costumes and families come together to celebrate the fall season with autumn- inspired arts and crafts, food, games and a dance party. The school is transformed by dozens of volunteers and it sets the stage for a fantastic event! A ton of fun is had by all!
We are excited to bring back this anticipated event.
This year, Fall Fest will be held on Friday, October 27. Volunteers are needed for everything from activity planning to food & beverage to decorating.
THANKSGIVING AND VALENTINES’ DAY CELEBRATIONS!
To celebrate Thanksgiving, our kids will be able to decorate paper turkeys and write what they are thankful for. And this year, for Valentines’ Day, our kids can decorate hearts and tell us about something or someone they love! The paper turkeys and hearts will adorn our school lobby.
